When atmosphere matters more than mechanics
Not every great mobile game needs deep systems. Some, like Hollowreach Expedition, win almost entirely on atmosphere, and that's a legitimate way to make something memorable.
These games usually strip combat and grind away, leaving exploration and mood. It sounds thin on paper, but with the right sound design and art, it's engrossing. I played most of Hollowreach at night with headphones and barely noticed the time.
The risk is that light mechanics can tip into boredom if the atmosphere ever slips. A single dull stretch and the spell breaks. The best of them keep the drip of new discoveries steady.
If you mostly play twitchy or systems-heavy games, try one of these as a palate cleanser. They remind you that mobile can do quiet and moody just as well as loud and busy.
