Emberfall Saga
Emberfall Saga is the rare mobile RPG that respects your time without gutting the systems that make the genre fun. Battles are turn-based, you build a party of four, and each character has a skill tree that branches enough to matter. I spent a good while just reshuffling my lineup for the harder boss fights.
The writing surprised me. Side characters have actual arcs, and there's a slow-burn mystery about the falling embers that ties the regions together. Combat stays readable on a small screen thanks to big, clear ability icons and an undo-your-last-move safety net in casual mode.
If anything, the early hours move a touch slowly while the game teaches you its hooks. Push past that and it opens up into something genuinely absorbing. The offline play is a nice bonus for commutes.
