Arcade racers are quietly back

Somewhere along the way, mobile racing got obsessed with simulation. Lately I've noticed a swing back toward pure arcade feel, and Neon Drift Circuit is a great example. It's all about the drift, and it's a blast.

Arcade racers live or die on how the car feels in your hands. Tilt steering is divisive — I like it on open tracks and hate it on tight ones. The good news is the better games offer both tilt and buttons.

Short races are the secret weapon here. A ninety-second lap fits perfectly into a coffee break, and unlocking a new car gives you a reason to come back tomorrow. No waiting, no filler.

If you've been avoiding mobile racing because it felt too fussy, give the arcade side another look. The pure fun factor is higher than it's been in years.
